Christine and Drew's Wedding

Even though I was a guest at Christine and Drew's wedding, I just HAD to take some video!! I've know Drew since our college days, and we even shared an apartment together for a few years. And getting to know Christine over the past few years, I'm pretty sure everyone will agree that she rocks!! Their ceremony was on October 30th, held at a gorgeous church in South Boston with the reception at the top floor of the Taj in Boston. Good friends, a loving bride and groom, and so many laughs with many of our friends made for an amazing wedding and a great night!

Brooke and Derek's Full Wedding video

I have to count my blessings when it comes to the wedding clients I have had the joy of working with over the years. I've never had to deal with a 'bridezilla' or over bearing requests. To say Brooke and Derek were a breeze to work with is a huge understatement! They were such an amazing and loving couple, and I felt immediately at ease when we first met on their wedding day. Even despite getting up at 4am to drive down to the Cape to catch the ferry, it was an awesome day all around! The weather was picture perfect, the bride and groom looked amazing and happy from start to finish, and not to mention they had an AMAZING band playing!

This was my first wedding that I shot with my Canon 7D and I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about shooting the majority of the wedding on a DSLR. This is the big reason I brought my fiance down with me as a second shooter. She had some experience with shooting video at her full time job and I think she did great! She was able to capture some very important moments like Brooke getting ready in her dress, and the first time her father saw her in it, which I was unable to capture while filming the groom and his party getting ready. She also shot the ceremony and some of the reception which is vital in getting seamless coverage, especially when I'm running around getting shots from different angles. **I never try and up-sell packages to customers, but I highly recommend at least a second camera on a tripod for the ceremony, or a second shooter for half of the day if the bride and groom are not getting ready in the approximate same location**

The weekend after Brooke and Derek's wedding on the Vineyard, I made the drive up to Arlington, VT for the wedding of yet another amazing couple, Kate and Dave! I've known Dave since college and have actually worked with him on many filming projects, but mostly filming him on two wheels either going fast down a mountain or doing tricks in the air, so this was a new change for us! The wedding was held in beautiful Arlington, VT where the leaves were starting to change which made for the perfect wedding day weather.

To make it even more exciting for me, Kate and Dave ending up having the reception in a beautiful renovated barn, which is what my fiance and I have been looking at for our wedding!

Brook and Derek's Wedding

Two weekends ago I made the voyage down to Martha's Vineyard for my first wedding gig of 2010! My wonderful fiance agreed to come along and be my assistant (and part-time second shooter) for the day and I definitely couldn't have done it without her! To say it was a long day is an understatement. We were out the door at 5:15 am and were in bed at 11:45 that night! Special thanks to our friends Dave and Linely for not only recommending me for the wedding gig, but also for being our island hosts once again!

As far as the wedding day goes, I don't think the bride and groom could have asked for a more beautiful day. Sunny skies, cool weather, and probably the most short & sweet ceremony I've ever witnessed (just the way I like em!). Brooke and Derek are such a genuinely nice and laid back couple so needless to say I had a blast capturing their special day. Here is their wedding teaser from the day!!

And my first impressions of shooting a wedding with the 7D = AWESOME! It's low light capabilities really shine during the receptions which are typically really dark and a challenge to shoot.

Tables have turned!

Lucent Productions Weddings now needs to find our OWN videographer since I (Justin) just recently became engaged to my amazing and beautiful fiance! We are excited and now are starting to know what it feels like to be planning a wedding!

It's not usually tradition, but my fiance is incredible and surprised me with an engagement gift! I've wanted a Canon 7D for a long time now, and it's amazing low light capabilities will make shooting all the wedding receptions even more easier!



Lucent is shooting two weddings this September and I can't wait! Being engaged and planning our own wedding will make it even more exciting!

Casey and Joe's wedding.

The second wedding I had the pleasure of shooting in '09 was with Casey & Joe. I've known Casey throughout college so it was extra special being there for the 'behind the scenes' aspect of a wedding that most people don't usually get to see.

Husband and wife are located in Nevada, but decided to have the wedding back east at beautiful Lake Pearl in Wrentham, MA. The ceremony was held outdoors during the afternoon hours, and allowed for some beautiful pictures down by the water.

*There are usually 'bonus' features for the DVDs that include slideshows from the wedding photographer (if provided) as well as honeymoon photos if desired by the couple.*

Wedding Sample: Cassy and John

One of the weddings I shot this past year was for my friend Cassy who was getting married to her long time boyfriend John Bartolomucci......or just Barts as everyone calls him. The wedding was held at the Red Lion Inn in Cohasset, MA. It had an amazing combination of elegance and rustic feel and still one of my favorite locations I've been at for a wedding!! Since the reception was at night, they had a 'first viewing' moment before the wedding to see each other and take pictures by the ocean.

With the couple's permission, here is the 'teaser' video I sent them from their wedding day.

Lucent Productions is currently designing a full wedding video website, but for now will be keeping everyone update through this blog!

We shot two amazing weddings in 2009 with hopes of expanding for 2010! Video samples should be posted soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
